Innovation

Always committed to research and experimentation for smart cities

The green economy represents a concrete opportunity to revitalize Italy’s economy — but this is only possible by activating innovation processes capable of bringing profound change to production and consumption systems, investing in knowledge, and generating new expertise. That’s why NHP has always been committed to researching and experimenting with new technologies and models for energy efficiency within the smart city framework — from renewable energy production to sustainable mobility.

We were pioneers of car sharing in Italy

NHP launched Bee, the first Italian project for electric car & bike sharing, developed in Naples. It was 2013, and the initiative was truly unique — not only in Campania but throughout Italy — proving NHP to be a true pioneer in the sector. With Bee, we were the first to promote the idea in Italy that a city with fewer cars, efficient public transport, less stress, and clean air could be a realistic scenario.

We developed innovative technology capable of building efficient infrastructures for the management of fully electric and automated car sharing services, using zero-emission vehicles. That infrastructure has since evolved to meet the needs of modern urban mobility.

Today we design the mobility of the future

As a sustainable mobility innovator, NHP is a participant in the European project Sharing Cities, in collaboration with the Metropolitan City of Milan. Over the next five years, we’ll take part in a living lab that will identify the most effective business models for sustainable mobility, with interventions planned between Porta Romana and Vettabbia.

Our mission is to define long-term sustainable green mobility models that can meet the planet’s environmental challenges, people’s transportation needs, and business profitability goals. These models, once tested in Milan, will be shared and replicated in Bordeaux, Burgas, and Warsaw — the “follower cities” of the project.
