This page describes how the NHP website uses (or doesn't use) cookies, in line with the Italian Data Protection Authority's guidelines on cookies and other tracking tools (10 June 2021).
Cookies are small text files that a website sends to a visitor's device, where they are stored and then sent back to the same website on the next visit.
Technical cookies, always on. The Site stores a single value in the browser's local storage, which is not a cookie in the technical sense: it is never sent to the server and stays on your device. It remembers the choice you made about analytics cookies, so you are not asked again on every visit. It does not identify you and does not track your browsing.
Analytics cookies, only with prior consent. The Site uses Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-QJFXG347FN) to count visits and understand which sections are read. These are third-party cookies set by Google, lasting up to 24 months (_ga) and 24 hours (_ga_<ID>). The IP address is anonymised and data is processed in aggregate form: it is not used to profile you or for advertising purposes.
Until you give consent, the Google script is not loaded and your browser makes no connection to Google's servers. If you withdraw consent, cookies already set are deleted.
The Site does not use profiling or marketing cookies. There are no social share buttons, embedded videos, maps, or other elements that could install third-party cookies without your knowledge.
On your first visit a banner appears with two equally prominent choices: Accept and Refuse. Refusing does not limit your use of the Site in any way.
You can change your mind at any time through the Cookie preferences button, always available at the foot of every page: the statistics switch turns Google Analytics on or off with immediate effect. You can also use the opt-out add-on provided by Google at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Even though this site doesn't install any, you can always check, block, or delete cookies already on your device from your browser's settings (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge): check the help or privacy settings section of the browser you use.
